With roots in both Greensboro and Hinesville, Simonton Engineering brings exceptional civil engineering expertise to the state of Georgia. In 1980, Paul Simonton founded P.C. Simonton & Associates, Inc. Under his leadership, that company had thrived and provided service to both public and private clients for 40 years. Now he has taken a new path to a more progressive and forward thinking organization, Simonton Engineering, LLC.

Our team of engineers are licensed in the state of Georgia to ensure our work exceeds even the highest of expectations. We specialize in water, wastewater, land planning and development, transportation and drainage. When working with our clients, we strive to maintain a culture of reliability, trust and teamwork that is grounded in decades of experience. Paul Simonton, PE President of Simonton Engineering, LLC

Paul Simonton, PE

Paul Simonton is a Civil Engineer and Project Manager and president of Simonton Engineering, LLC. Paul’s background is in Civil Engineering to include site planning and design, roadway design and traffic studies, water and sewer projects to include water and wastewater treatment plants, drainage analysis and design plus engineering studies for infrastructure facilities. His expertise consists of not only the design of the projects but determining the best funding methods and assisting the client in funding applications. Prior to his time at Simonton Engineering, he was the founder and President of P.C. Simonton & Associates, Inc. He founded P.C. Simonton & Associates, Inc. in 1980 and under his leadership provided much the same service to private and public clients for 40 years.
Paul spends much of his time on infrastructure evaluation and developing short and long-range plans to ensure the infrastructure components are adequate to meet client needs. This includes evaluating facilities for condition and capacity, plus developing capital improvement plans for future needs. His work is focused on planning ahead to avoid emergency projects and keeping the client ahead of infrastructure failure.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Auburn University and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Georgia and South Carolina. He is also a GSWCC Level II Certified Design Professional in Erosion and Sedimentation Control.
Ashton Austin, Design Engineer at Simonton Engineering

Ashton Austin

Design Engineer
Ashton Austin is an Engineer-In-Training and design engineer at Simonton Engineering. Ashton’s background includes project management and engineering of different types of civil projects. Before working at Simonton Engineering, Ashton served in the United States Army as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician and Team Sergeant. While at Simonton Engineering, he has worked on various wastewater treatment projects, including modifications, upgrades, and plant expansions, as well as transportation engineering projects. Ashton’s experience in permitting, project design and management provides our clients with comprehensive project experience from conceptualization through construction closeout.
Ashton holds a B.S. in Building Construction (2011) and a B.S. in Civil Engineering (2018) from Georgia Institute of Technology and is a GSWCC Level II Certified Plan Reviewer.
Cory Johnson, Design Engineer at Simonton Engineering

Cory Johnson

Design Engineer
Cory Johnson is an Engineer-In-Training and design engineer at Simonton Engineering. Cory’s background is in engineering of different types of civil projects and project coordination. Before graduating from The University of Georgia, Cory worked as an assistant site designer and draftsmen at Simonton Engineering. After graduation, Cory has worked on a variety of commercial, residential and transportation projects. Cory’s experience in project design and coordination ensures that our clients have an effortless experience from project design to project closeout.
Cory holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering (2019) from The University of Georgia, is a GSWCC Level II Certified Plan Reviewer, and is an ACI Grade I Concrete Field Testing Technician.

Justin Echols

Project Engineer
Justin has over 14 years of experience in project management, engineering and design, preparation and permitting of construction documents, construction administration and surveying for various development projects. His diverse background includes residential, municipal, and commercial design. Justin is well versed in all phases of the design process from roadway and traffic design, water distribution expansion, wastewater collection and treatment, regional stormwater facilities and lift/pump stations. His responsibilities include conceptual planning, design and plan preparation, project submittals to local, state, and federal agencies, quality control and project management.
Justin holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Southern Tech University.
Tommy NeSmith, Field Technician at Simonton Engineering

Tommy NeSmith

Field Technician
Tommy has 3 years of experience in engineering and design, as well as, surveying. His background includes surveying to establish field conditions used for base mapping prior to design. Tommy is well versed in sidewalk and trail design which provides knowledge of what to locate during the field investigation and base mapping portion of the project. He has experience with AutoCAD®, data collectors, Quantum GIS mapping and various Microsoft products.
Tommy holds an Associate degree of Applied Science in Environmental Engineering Technology from Athens Technical College and is certified as a GSWCC: Level 1A Certified Personnel.
